Polishing a car is an involved process, a practiced procedure really. Before applying car polish, your car must be washed thoroughly. This is a two step process starting with plain water, then with car detergent. Detergent used for washing clothes are never to be used as they are strong and may damage your car paint. The third stage is to again wash off the car detergent with plain water. Chamois leather or micro fiber towel is recommended to dry the car exterior. The next step is to apply the car polish with an applicator brush in an even manner. It is important to apply the car polish evenly, making sure you leave no holidays. Leave the car polish to dry off for the time period specified as per the car polish manual of instructions. Then rub it off with a micro fiber towel to give you a good glow and a brand new look car.
The abrasive ingredients and dissolvent will remove the old grime oil and dust and the wax component in the car polish will give the requisite shine and protection. The wax component is also water repellant which will help protect your car paint. How often should you polish your car? Well an interval of two to three weeks between polishing is all right. This is because every car polish has an abrasive component which acts by removing microns thick layer of paint to reveal a shiny layer and thus over time leads to the paint thinning and becoming dull. Therefore, a regular but not frequent polish will help keep your car paint in good condition.
