It is amazing how Mother Nature can be so destructive and create a hurricane that causes so much damage and death. Hurricane Ike ran through the state of Texas like a hot knife through butter ravaging anything or anyone that was in the way. The storm flooded many cities in Texas and there are still houses and vehicle that are under water. This happened due to the 14 foot storm surge that the storm created which soared over the sea wall that was in place to prevent this type of flood from happening.

Flooding is only the beginning of the damage that hurricane Ike caused. There are still millions of families without power to their homes. Heck, there are people that don't even have a home to go to anymore. Red Cross and the National Guard have been sent in to help these poor souls who have been devastated by hurricane Ike. It will take a lot of time for these Texans and their state to fully recover but the worst is yet to come. Trying to get their homes and roadways cleaned up and remove all the standing water is only the first major step to bringing back their city to normal.
