Swords were the primary weapons used in wars since ages, right from the gigantic British Empire to some small tribal community; every one used swords for self-defense and attacking.
The need of military swords was meager in United States until the dawn of the civil war. Thus with the advent of civil war the number of swords being manufactured had risen exponentially. It is an astounding fact that about half of the swords that were manufactured in United States, were so manufactured in a period of 5 years, from 1861 to 1866.
The oldest sword manufacturing companies in the United States are Massachusetts Company and Ames Manufacturing Company. Swords are still a part of the uniform, of military officers. They are often seen with their swords in some cavalcades.
Often these swords are stored and displayed in some special display auxiliary equipment like the cutlasses and the display cases. There are a wide variety of display cases and cutlasses being designed for sales, they are not only restricted to the military personnel, the civilians can also buy these display sets. The popularity of these display boxes and cutlasses is increasing and the demand is growing for these US military display boxes.
