Try Insuring the Big Brother house

When is an insured home not an insured home? When you need to make a claim, is the somewhat cynical answer you might hear today. Just as the whole of life appears to have gotten a whole lot more busy, noisy and complicated, so the home insurance market place is much more busy and noisy, and complex.

To be fair times have changed all round and a home is a different place to what it used to be not that long ago. It used to be where mum, dad and the child(ren) stayed, with the odd visitor and overnight guest. Nowadays that kind of home scenario is as likely as anything from a student house of multiple occupancy to an unmarried couple with children from previous relationships, or a house like the Big Brother house.

Nature has taken its toll on the home insurance business, too. Flooding is the now almost annual fear of thousands of homeowners in the UK, and it must cause more than a ripple of dread among the home insurers as well.

Then there’s mortgage payment defaulting, repossessions, and the massive increase in recent years of fraudulent home insurance claims.

It all adds up to a tricky business for the many home insurance companies who now offer their services in the marketplace. But, to be fair to the poor, honest sod(s) who are trying to get the right home insurance policy for their property, those companies wouldn’t be in the marketplace in the first place if they didn’t think it was fruitful.

Add into the mix with all the above the massive increase in home insurers, policies, options, clauses, exemptions, and the like, and it’s clear finding a home insurance policy to meet your needs and cover as many eventualities as possible is no picnic in the sun.

It’s a daunting prospect, made all the more so at times when backed up with the full force of the advertising, promotion and marketing activity that all the home insurance companies utilise in the ‘battle’ for your business in a highly competitive market.

Who can you turn to, who do you trust? The best thing you can do is make an informed choice, and the best way to get informed is to find a reputable service that gives you an independent and objective overview of the home insurance market.
Try typing ‘UK price insurance comparison service’ into Google and see what happens. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that there are websites dedicated to providing you with a comprehensive breakdown of all home insurance deals available out there today. From the peace and quiet of your own home, without the sales pitch, you can survey the various home insurance deals on offer and work out the best one for you and your home.

So no matter what you live in, where or with whom, when or how, you can be sure to at least be fully informed before you make your choice. Maybe that’s where Endemol went to get insurance for the mad house, aka Big Brother!
