You may wonder what Raynauds disease is; well it is caused by the restriction of blood supply to extremities such as fingers and toes. When a part of the body is infected it will turn white and look dead, then it will become inflamed and can be very painful or it might become numb and tingle.

The disease can be triggered by extended exposure to the cold, but some people believe that stress, smoking and beta blockers may also cause the disease to form.
In the case of vibration white finger, symptoms include tingling and numbness that continue after the vibrating machinery has been turned off. Then the fingers become white and numb but the thumb isn’t usually affected.
In some extreme cases people have even lost their fingers, and this usually happens when people are working with vibrating machinery in the cold.
