Building your opt-in list is probably one of the smartest things you can do as an internet marketer. Talk about an asset!
Yet it's a crucial step that most internet marketers will avoid because of the amount of time that may be required to build a nice size opt-in list and of course because the activity of building your opt-in list isn't something that produces immediate results.
Nevertheless, it is something you should work at consistently because of the huge benefits it could create for you down the line.
You might be selling affiliate products or your own product and if you've been in Internet Marketing for a while you may have already discovered that Pay Per Click Campaigns and other methods of direct marketing can be quite expensive. Keep this in mind: Marketing to potential consumers on the internet will only continue to get more and more expensive as more competitors enter the mix!
Enter your email opt-in list. Your email opt-in list will allow you to market your products to your subscribers absolutely free. And since your subscribers have already opted-in to your list, you already know they're interested in what you have to say and what you're selling.
Ok, so we know that building an opt-in list is important what is the fastest way to go about increasing its size?
The first thing you want to do is build a squeeze page. A squeeze page is simply a sales page for your opt-in list which you will be hosting on your website. You want to keep it short and sweet. Use bullets to convey all of the benefits that your subscribers will reap by subscribing to your list. Keep most or all of your information above the fold.
These days, giving an ebook or a free report away to entice readers to join your opt-in list is a very popular method of quickly growing your subscriber base.
There should be no noise on your squeeze page. That means no other links, no other offers and no adsense. This is commonly referred to as a forced opt-in primarily because the reader has no other choice but to opt-in to your list or leave the page. Once you've set up your squeeze page; it's time to start promoting it.
* Your opt-in page can be promoted on forums by adding your squeeze page to your signature (Just make sure it's within forum rules).
* You can include it in your signature of your email address.
* Your opt-in box should be on every page of your website.
* You can advertise with Pay Per Click campaigns or if you're short on funds you can use several Traffic Exchanges to get the word out on your newsletter.
Your opt-in list of subscribers can be a huge asset to your business. Make sure you spend some time every day growing your subscriber base.
