Erectile Dysfunction may also be considered as the most common disorder nowadays, when men may not feel any sexual desire, or have problems with ejaculation and an orgasm during sex.
This disorder may be experienced in three different ways. First it may be the total inability to achieve an erection, second it may be that the ability to do so is very inconsistent, and third it may be achieved for very short durations.
This disorder is treated by various drugs. The first drug to be introduced in the market was Viagra in 1998. It became an instant success and also was followed by other drugs in the market that included Cialis, Levitra and Kamagra.
Certain diseases, injury or side effects of other drugs may also cause erectile dysfunction in men. If a disease causes injury to the nerves, and affects blood flow to the penis, this may cause the disorder.
What Causes Erectile Dysfunction?
There is a series of events that occur during the erection of a penis, and an erectile dysfunction will occur when this series in disrupted. The series will begin from impulses in the brain, that occur with sexual desire, and the response of muscles and tissues in the area around the penis. The most common cause of erectile dysfunction is the damage of nerves and muscles. Seventy percent of the cases belongs to erectile dysfunction, is caused by diseases such as diabetes, kidney diseases, chronic alcoholism or neurological diseases.
Intense smoking and lack of exercise may also lead to erectile problems. Operations that may damage the area near penis sometimes lead to Erectile Dysfunction as well. Antidepressants and blood pressure drugs may have side effects that lead to erection disturbance.
There is a group of people with so called “Psychic Impotency”. In this case evectional problems are caused by stress, low self esteem and inferiority. It’s necessary to know that physically such people are absolutely healthy. Sometimes people have a combination of two types of Erectile Dysfunction, when physical stage is had been successfully treated, they still can’t gain an erection due to moral stress after being “impotents”.
Treatment for Erectile Dysfunction
Although a higher percentage of older men have this disorder, there is no such evidence that proves that these men may contract this disorder only at this age. However, many younger men also have been diagnosed with this disorder, due to the habit of unusual sex in parties and orgies, while consuming harmful and illegal drugs.
This is the disorder that can be treated at any age, and there is no such rule that older men are not allowed to have better sex. Nowadays, a lot people are aware about this, compared to the situation several years back. Many of the people have now started consuming Viagra, and other drugs to have a better sex experience with their partner. However, these drugs may cause some side effects too.
Over the years, the treatment of erectile dysfunction has improved a lot; more and more men are seeking medical help. With the help of latest advancement in medicine for this disorder, zillions of positive results have been reported.
