The socialization period is the most suitable time for bonding between you and your dog. During a puppy’s socialization stage, it learns by experience and can easily learn to foster relationships with both humans and its fellow dogs. A puppy learns new behaviors during the socialization stage that helps it learn its master’s needs.

The key to raising a healthy obedient puppy is consistently. The more you are consistent and firm with the things you want your dog to learn, the more well behaved it becomes. If you are too flexible during the training sessions for your dog, you may end up confusing it.

Dogs are non-verbal creatures while human beings are verbal creatures. Dogs basically communicate what they feel by wagging their tails, moaning, whining, barking or biting. Humans need to learn how to tell their dogs what they want through both verbal and non verbal language.

You must let your dog know when it has exhibited an undesired behavior by giving it a no reward marker. A no reward marker basically communicates the fact to your dog that there isn’t going to be any reward for a particular action

In training your dog, you should endeavor to look at everything from the dog’s perspective and not your own. Understanding how your dog thinks and acts enables you to train it successfully. Don’t be cruel in giving a dog confusing commands just to see how it will act…that will only render your dogs useless in responding to your commands.

Guard dogs are trained to switch on their protective instincts at will. A command from you can put a guard dog on the defensive. In the same vein, one command from you can put a guard dog on relax mode which means it doesn’t attack strangers.

Dogs can be a handful and without proper training, they can be positively uncontrollable. Having a dog entails more than just feeding and bathing it. Dog training is one responsibility you owe to your dog.

Training your dog is going to be an action that yields good fruits for both you and your dog. Always endeavor to treat your dog with respect and dignity if you want it to obey your command. A strong bond with your dog makes training it effortless.
