Do you realize that your pets can suffer water damage in the way of frostbite to their bodies? If you have an outside dog, you might want to make it indoors so that it can be comfortable in the cold winter weather to come. If they have a doghouse, you might want to go and buy a bail of straw for one of the local farmers to put in their house. This straw will help keep the heat in their bodies where it belongs. It will help with keeping frostbite off of their feet.
If you have a dog that doesn't like going into a doghouse, you might want to try putting them in your garage at night so they aren't out in the cold. Make sure that their water is changed more often, as it will freeze and your animal will be without water all day. The main places an animal can get frostbite on its body are its ears, feet, the end of their tails, and their noses.
If these places get frostbite, you will need to try to help this animal by either putting some kind of salve to protect the skin or taking this animal to a vet so that it can be helped. In a lot of cases like these, the animal will most likely lose that part of their body because there isn't much you can do after this shows up.
If you have a small dog that is in the house, most of the time you will really need to make sure that they aren't left outside for too long. If there is snow on the ground and your dog is white, you can lose sight of them very easily. They can become lost very easily because they might not be able to find their way back to the house, and you will have to go out and find them as soon as you possibly can because they will freeze very quickly, as they aren't used to the cold weather.
If you are like most people that love your pets, you will want to make them as comfortable as possible. If you can imagine yourself in their shoes, you would hope that your master would do these things for you. If you have to take them outside in the winter snows, make sure that you wipe their feet off when you bring them back inside so their feet are dry.
