A lot of people think that when a toy was obtained from an online pet store, it is already safe for their pet. But this is not always right, due to toys are made for dogs of certain sizes and with certain playing or chewing styles. There are some toys that can be dangerous for your pets especially if you let your dogs play alone.

Pets that chew violently have very specific needs when it comes to pet toys. Large dogs should always be given dog toys that are made for larger breed dogs, because small toys can choke your pets.

Similarly, aggressive chewers (especially big aggressive chewers) can suffer from a whole host of issues when you improperly pick your dog’s toys. Any plastic, hollow squeaker toys is automatically out without proper supervision, since these toys can choke your dogs. Aggressive chewers can easily tear their toys into pieces. Also, plush pet toys, like stuffed dog toys, are also at risk of being ripped and eaten, and so should be purchased with extreme caution.

We pet owners don’t have to worry, just remember these things. First, these toys are still made for pets. Pet toys can be really a nice gift to our pets. You can find many pet toys in the market today. But for those that like to leave toys with their dogs, large ropes make great chew dog toys. A Large rope is a nice idea because aside from it can clean your dog’s teeth; it can not be easily ripped apart which makes the large rope a great toy for any aggressive chewing type of dogs.

Large dogs can still enjoy any pet toys, because most toy makers offer larger versions of all of their pet toys, you simply have to find them.

You may want to purchase popular brands like Kong that uses thick rubber which is more durable compare to traditional thin plastic toys, so these toys can stand up to even the roughest chewers. Hard rubber dog toys are ideal for big dogs that can destroy its toys quicker than you can get them.

Finally, another great toy for your dogs is toys that need to "solve something". Like a big plastic dome with treats inside and your pet needs to paw around the toy for him to get the treats. These kinds of pet toys are good for very active kind of dogs (but not for dogs that are easily frustrated). Any large plastic dome toys should still be watched at first, however, because dogs that like to "kill" their toys (shake their toys violently back and forth) may try to do so with their heavy plastic toys, causing untold amount of damage.

Dog toy manufacturers have done a much better job of making toys for larger dogs and aggressive chewers. Still, it is a good idea to check each toys very carefully before you give it over to your pets, and do not forget to supervise your dogs just to ensure it is using the dog toys correctly.
