First off a little bit of history about our favourite online game. The origins of the game stretch back to the 15th century when a popular Italian lotto game was played. It soon swept across Europe were it was first modified by the French then Germans. By the 18th century it had conquered all of Europe before becoming hugely popular in America in the 19th century. Then of course it has had yet another transformation in the 21st century when the game went online where it has become more popular now than at any other time in the past 500 years.

So what are the basics that you should know to play this wonderful game online?

The basic to online bingo is pretty much the same as the offline version. The only difference is everything is displayed on the screen in front of you.

The numbers are still called out but instead of it being done by a cheesy caller they just simply pop up on screen. This makes it far easier to keep track of what’s going on.

Online bingo still has the same rules to win as the traditional version. Get all the numbers in one line, then all the numbers in two and finally getting all the numbers in the box for a full house. There are often two ways you can check the numbers called out. The computer can automatically check your numbers marking them off on your ticket as they are called. If you prefer you can still mark them off yourself, but beware if you do this you will have to be quick if you win as you will have to call before anyone else to claim your prize.

It’s a good idea to perhaps learn a few different bingo terms, thought not essential, which might make things a little easier. There are also an increasing variety of online bingo games with different rules.
