The basic message hidden behind the celebration of Diwali is the triumph of the goodness over evil powers. All the houses are decorated with colorful candles, beautiful flowers, lamps, other decorative material and electrical lightings, so that there remains no space for the darkness. The darkness indicates the malevolence whereas the lights and the fire indicate the power of goodness. Diwali is a symbol of how the rays of goodness can ruin the existence of the dark of bad powers in this world. Diwali is an incredible festival that is celebrated at its full swing in each and every house.
People normally buy new clothes, get the whitewashes done in their home and prepare the sweets for distributing amongst their friends and relatives. The gifts are also presented to each other with sweets. The festival of Diwali is very significant in our country as it defines the culture and the religion power of the people of the nation. Diwali is the most loved and preferred festival that people love to celebrate as there is lot of scope for their fun and entertainment. This festival of Diwali also holds great importance because of the fact that at this festival every family gets united, people meet their close relatives and old friends that remind all the special memories of the past once again. The women are most benefited in this festival as they buy lots of gold, and diamond jewelry and do necessary shopping. The markets are specially decorated and people can buy a variety of gifts to be presented to their loved ones. The “Laxmi Pooja” is one of the most important elements that can’t be avoided. Everyone worship the goddess of wealth “Laxmi’ at the fabulous occasion of Diwali. Basically the motive of the worship is to pray for the prosperity and peace to the goddess of wealth. It’s all about getting the divine blessing from the “Laxmi” in order to get all the success and materialistic comforts in life. Diwali brings the unity in the people and encourage them to get rid of the wickedness hidden in them.
