Website Content

it is the most crucial factor, and thus website should always be rich in content.

Your subject is your spinal cord:

Creating a website is lots of fun, blended with challenge. Keep your goal in mind. You might be tempted to add all the worldly information you have at hand - but you need to only but the important stuff!! Be glued to the goal. Preferably pen it down before you start designing the site.

Lasting impressions:

The first impression is a lasting one. In case of a web site, it’s the first page that should be a crisp description of the entire website. Your message should reflect on this page. The page should not be flooded with inviting text and interesting graphics. Free hosting service, does not give a serious look to your business and thus should be avoided.

Consistent Design:

Professional sites need to have an overall design. This helps to bind the readers and help them easily relate to the site. When the users are familiar to the design and format they can navigate easily. Even, the design should also relate to the users. Consistency is of grave importance to any professional site.

Navigation through the site:

The site should be user friendly. The users should find it easy to travel from one page to another. It should be well formatted and consistent. The links should be clear links to your pages and, if are selling a product, make it easy for people to buy it! The name of the company, address, contact numbers and E-mail address should be on each and every page. Make it easy for Customers to contact you with their queries or comments. Links to other sites can divert the users to other sites before they have carefully gone through yours. Thus, links should only be added if necessary, or a special link page should be added at the end of your site.

Fair opinion on your piece of work

An outside opinion would be a true one. Once your site is polished, view it in other browsers. This will help you get a unbiased opinion

Tell the world about your new site

Insert your URL on all your company business cards, letter heads, brochures, phone systems, etc. Swap links with other related web sites and consider banner advertising. After reading the rules of search engines, try and list your site with the major search engines

Keep your site current.

You need to find a reason people visit and revisit your site. It should have a lasting impression so that they recommend it to their friends also. The attractions could be spoofs, daily cartoons, or attention catching events. Offer valuable gifts or attractive gifts - to add the extra motivation to visit your site.

Conduct Surveys

converse with users about your site. Conduct a survey and then thank the participants by gifts. Ask friends and relatives to check out the site, then collect a feed back from them. All this can help you improvise on your site. Subscribe to professional E-zones, and keep surfing the web doing market research. Be well aware of your competitors and their strengths. Up-date your site regularly and keep persuading your friends, relatives and customers to give feedback. They see things with fresh eyes. And their input to the site is valuable.
